As with any exterior product, it is recommended to apply a good quality finish to preserve the wood's natural beauty and protect the post cap.

Hatteras Flat Top Post Cap from Capital CityOct 25, 2011

The post caps are a great value! These were used inside our beach house to give the newly installed stairwell posts a finished look. Glued on the 4x4 post and stained, you would think a real carpenter did the project.
