Capitol City Lumber Company is a unique lumber and hardware retail store. We cater to a wide array of customers from the do-it-yourselfers, homeowners, remodelers to the small to large-size contractors. We specialize in having a vast array of lumber, building materials and hardware, often times the hard to find items. Our store location is located at 4216 Beryl Road in Raleigh, North Carolina, near the NC State fairgrounds.
Capitol City Lumber Company was incorporated in 1945, but due to World War II was not started until April 1, 1947.
The company was started by J. Anglin Nicholson with one empty building, a two ton truck and a single load of plywood. He believed in a policy of fair pricing, quality products and dependable service. Although the company has grown both in size and breadth of products, we strive every day to live up to his original mission of Quality, Service and Dependability.
